January 2009
A whole New Year and we are adding our social activities to the 2009 calendars. Between Dave’s Park Patrolling, Bowling two days a week, Zumba, Yoga and Curves
We have so many other things here in the Park going on and the Theater Downtown and our monthly camp outs Oh, It’s sometimes seems to much but with a good calendar and Dave the organizer you can do it
The first month of this year brought us a new granddaughter, grandchild number 11, Melany Shai Lipscomb, weighed 7 lbs. 13 oz. and 21 inches long and a head full of hair. She is the daughter of Sgt.Gary David Lipscomb and his wife Mery. New Address for son Gary in Iraq

We didn’t get to go camping this month but did see a few good movies, The Curious Case of Benjamin Button, Last Chance Harvey and “Valkyrie”. We saw a play at the local playhouse, the Odd Couple with our friends from NJ, Alice and John. We also saw two singing groups, one here at the TGO Manor (“Charly Raymond” a.k.a. Harry James and The Apple Blossoms a.k.a. “The Andrews Sisters”) and one at the church,
“Greater Vision”, a gospel group. Boy could they sing! Coming up Thursday night we are going to a Pork Bar-b-Q supper and game night at the Manor here in the park and then on Saturday night it’s “Denim n’ Diamonds” dinner and dance at the Manor. Alice and John are going too.
We are happy to have our friends, John and Alice, from NJ, snowbirding for three months. They are staying in a condo downtown on the Indian River directly across from the Kennedy Space Center. To which we will visit them to see the next shuttle take off on Feb 22nd
We are waiting for the arrival of Dave’s sister, Lillian, and her husband Pete who have a winter house here at TGO. They will be here until April. Dave is happy as he likes to stop there when he is on Park Patrol duty for coffee and “something sweet he shouldn’t have.”
Our new friends, Ed and Norma whom we met while camping with the Great Recreation World, are coming to see where we live and going out to lunch. We visited them a couple of weeks ago. They have a lovely house and interesting yard. They have a tree in their yard called starfruit or Carambola. You slice it and it looks like a star. We dipped it in powdered sugar. Delicious!
Dave still works 2-3 days a week on the park’s courtesy patrol while Marge attends yoga, Zumba, and bowls twice a week. Marge decided to give up Curves. Not enough time for everything. Besides the yoga and Zumba classes are free! Dave likes that part Free…
We have our February schedule ready but subject to change at all times. Its loaded.
We are looking forward to the are next concert here at the park “A tribute to the Beatles”.
Then there's the show “Oklahoma” at the local playhouse
this month. And are annual Variety Show here at the park on Feb 27th…Also we can’t forget the Launch scheduled for February 12th. So much to do such little time.
Now we are looking at joining up with some more of our friends from New Jersey who are visiting Florida this month Skip & Dot, Lee & Linda also Lee & Sandy.
Can’t forget the Valentine’s Dance on the Friday the 13th or the “Gaither Family Show” in Orlando on the 14th. Then we have Dave's works every Mon. & Tue. during the month…
