What a month, but we got thru it. We even had time for a special guest who came all the way from Missouri to visit with us. It was Master Flat Stanley!
Other visitors this month included Marge's sister, Carol and her husband Jack from Louisiana. They were here for only three days.We took them to see the Legends type show "In Tribute to the Beatles." It was right here at The Great Outdoors Resort entertainment hall. We also went out to eat at a new Chinese restaurant as it was Carol's birthday.
Dave's sister and brother in law joined us for a show in Cocoa to see "Gentlemen Prefer Blondes."
We are sad, our visiting snowbirds Alice & John took off for Hollywood Fl. for one week before heading back to their home in New Jersey. We enjoyed their company over the past three months.Last weekend we went to a Western Farewell Dance here at the park with them and said our goodbyes. It was hard to see them go, we enjoy their company so much. They will be back again next year. They love the sun here in Florida.
We had our community wide yard sale which is great, Dave sold five of the eight items he had out front. He was told not to go shopping for anything the day of the sale but he couldn,t help himself. He came home with a nice $150. bike rack which cost him $15 not bad, not bad..
The rocket launch was delayed from February but managed to get off without a hitch. We got some real good pictures of the lift off. Dave also got to see the craft return this past weekend. We were glad Alice and John got to see the lift off.
We had a Fun Fair Day here at the Resort and Marge was with her group of Zumba Girls demonstrating the class for all to see on the Fun Day Stage, She also managed to partake in the Park Managers 5K walk on the same day. Dave was lucky that day his name was drawn twice for a door prize.
We only took in one movie this month "Slumdog Millionaire." We highly recomend it. It did win an Academy Award for best picture..
Oh, St. Augustine was greats, We went with Dave's sister & her husband Pete to see what it was all about. Fantastic, you must see it. Book at least 4 or 5 days to get the full understanding of the history and beauty of the area.
Last, but not least, Dave's lucky month. There was a presentation here at the Great Outdoors Resort on alternative medications with over 300 in attendance and don't ya know, he won the one and only door prize. A lot of items and (2) two tickets to the Jess Parrish Medical Foundation Masquerade Ball being held at the La Cita Country Club this October........
Marge loves her bowling on Monday and Tuesday and playing cards on Wednesday and Saturday. She bowled a 182, a 223, and a 147 for a 552 series. She learned a new card game called "hand and foot." Alice and John learned to play it at their condo group so we got to play with them also. We taught Dave's sister and brother-in-law to play too.
March was real busy, April we can rest. Our schedule only calls for (2) two three to four day
trips with our Gold Club RV camping group. One is the first weekend in April , we are going to Kathern Abby Hanna Park at the Beach Head of Jacksonville, Florida . The 2nd trip is for three days at Yellow Jacket Park in Old Town Florida............Both should be fun and relaxing.
