Flagstaff AZ now, we stopped to rest, watch the Eagle's play do some laundry and of course plan the big visit to The Grand Canyon tomorrow.

Today we had a wonderful time traveling from Phoenix up to Se dona where we stopped for a day in the town. We shopped then drove thru the "Red Rock Country" where they have monoliths in the Coconino National Forest which they call these unique mountain cliffs such names as The Coffeepot, The Cathedral and Snoopy because of their distinctive objective shapes.

We have taken 97 pictures today of this place alone, but can only share 15-20 with you as it takes so much time to upload these pictures to the Internet. Its even harder when the hotel has a cheap wireless system. Hope you enjoy the few we have posted.

A note from a friend we wish to share:

The governoment wants us to cut the amount of gas we use on this trip.....
The best way to stop using so much gas is to deport 11 million illegal immigrants!
That would be 11 million less people using our gas. The price of gas would come down.....
Bring our troops home from Iraq to guard the Border....
When they catch an illegal immigrant crossing the border, hand him a canteen, rifle and some ammo and ship him to Iraq ...
Tell him if he wants to come to America then he must serve a tour in the military.....
Give him a soldier's pay while he's there and tax him on it.....
After his tour, he will be allowed to become a citizen since he defended this country.....
He will also be registered to be taxed and be a legal patriot......
This option will probably deter illegal immigration and provide a solution for the troops in Iraq and the aliens trying to make a better life for themselves.....
If they refuse to serve, ship them to Iraq anyway, without the canteen, rifle or ammo..... Problem solved.....

Thank You for the note, as we continue this 12,000 mile gas eating trip about this beautiful county of ours not the illegal immigrants

We have arrived in Phoenix, AZ and the Comfort Inn folks have done another great job. They have upgraded us to a Suite without cost. It even has a bar in the living room. all for 79.99.
We ar here for a stop over before heading to Flagstaf,AZ where we will spend two days one for a vist to Sodona a cute town below Flagstaff and the second day on a bus tour of the Grand Canyon.

Our stop over gives us time to take care of mailing out some post cards, replying to emails, paying some bills and relaxing in the jacuzzi and pool. The pictures attached are of the travel route today we were so surprised at the bolder mountains, thats right mountains made of boulders "go figute" then we went thru a U.S. Boarder Patrol check point on route #8 why we don't know and didn't ask either....

Friday September 28th,2007 In San Diego

Hey, we must not have posted our comments for the day so here they are a day late. We were in San Diego for two days. Marge wanted to visit the hospital where she had her first born, Jeff almost 44 years ago. We also found the apartment they lived in. We spent some time the first day at Balboa Park, visited several of the museums there, and went to the beach also. The next day we spent the entire day in Old Town San Diego. It was so cool we even had lunch and Mexican dinner there. The Old Town of San Diego is sort of like Williamsburg, Virginia. It is an old Mexican Village with of course souvenir shops and restaurants. It was a lot of fun and only a walk from our hotel. Tomorrow(today) we travel to Phoenix AZ. see ya later......
