Today we are in Amarillo, Texas and realize now why TEXAS is so special. Everything is TEXAS size and they are proud of it. We will be in various parts of Texas for the next 9 or 10 days from Amarillo, Fort Worth, San Antonio, Houston, Corpus Cristi to Lubbock & Granbury, Waco and even Lipscomb County just for the heck of it.
This afternoon we arrived in Amarillo about 4pm, setteled in at the Comfort Inn on the West side of the city then we went to dinner at The Big Texan Steak Ranch. This is a world-renowned restaurant made famous for its FREE 72-oz steak - that's right if you can eat the thing in one hour its free. That is 4 1/2 pounds of meat . "No can do." Marge and I were full on the 6 & 12-oz filets. The place was too cute, as you can tell by the photos and we had a wonderfull time.
It's early to bed tonight as we are traveling up into the pan handle of Texas to Lipscomb County to see what's what and will try get some Texas pictures of the cowboy countryside.
The pictures at the bottom of the page are of 10 cadillacs buried nose down by an eccentric millionaire in a field. Crazy, huh? I took a picture of Dave standing next to a cadillac that someone had spray painted "Dave 2007." All the cars had writing and spray paint of names and dates.

There's a yellow (amarillo) Rose in Texas, Dave and Marge are going to see.
